Daniel's Fast - Day 2

Today was much better than yesterday, well except for the weather. The dreary, rainy day had me unmotivated. But luckily I had an eye appointment that got me out. I used that excuse to swing by Trader Joe's (amazing place to shop during the fast).

Today's eating experience:
Well, I didn't do a "breakfast." Due to migraines, I continue to have my daily dose of caffeine. Though, my body must know there is something different going on as I battled a headache today. What I did do was snacked on pistachios and some yummy mango/pineapple salsa with fast approved corn chips. When I was away at the appointment, Kriz enjoyed his kale salad along with snacking on corn chips.

For supper, I made this yummy Leek and spinach soup which I found on City Girl - Country Girl's blog on Pinterest. Actually, she has a wonderful set up of different menu ideas for the fast. http://karyn-wells.blogspot.com/2012/01/21-day-daniel-fast_08.html

For devotions, we are using our Bible app with Youversion. It has been good so far. The first two days has reminded us of why and what we are fasting. Daniel 10:12 spoke to me the most last night. It reminded me that God has already heard and knows of our fasting needs. As it states. "Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them." Fasting is humbling and I am thankful God will respond during this season. I am truly excited to see what He has in store for our family this year. The excitement bubbles up each time I think of it.
